Meet Ruthie From All Things Meraki

My name is Ruthie.

WELCOME to All Things Meraki!

Hello!

Thank you for stopping by to check out my little blog! I’m still finding my feet in the blogging world so things may change frequently around here. Don’t be put off though, I am here to stay and I hope that you will join in the journey with me. There is just so much to learn and discover, it’s really exciting time to learn and interact with readers and fellow bloggers.

A little about me:

About Ruthie

I was born on my Dad’s Birthday in sunny Perth, WA. I was an only child and spent my first years travelling around Australia with my adventurous parents. I don’t remember much from those times, though my mum was a keen photographer and captured the journey. These pictures in later years encouraged me to take my own trip around OZ.

I had a wonderful country upbringing, living on a citrus orchard/farm where I had lots of space to explore. I was a lover of animals and have fond memories of orphan lambs as pets!

I attended High School in a small country wheat belt town north of Perth. Here I made friends for life and met my future husband. After graduation I returned to the farm and started a small business. Saving the money up to purchase my first 4wd and camping equipment to finally set off on my own adventure around Australia.

Over the years I worked in remote places around the country including Pearl Farms in Darwin, a barmaid in Central Australia & as a deckhand on a cruise boat in the Kimberley’s. If you know my story you will know that it took several trips to finally complete the journey around oz. I shared this adventure with my now husband, BW. We had the most amazing time and will highly recommend the experience to anyone! We drove the Gibb River Road, Visited Kakadu, Explored Cape York & Thursday Island and Fraser Island just to name a few!

After 11 months of exploring we returned to Perth and began saving for a house. We were married in the picturesque South West town of Busselton in 2013.

All Things Meraki

After the adventure of travelling and settling down with a house, responsibilities etc  I was beginning to question what was left of my creative, adventurous spirit. Due to recent changes with my working life, I now have the opportunity to take the time and get some of me back! I have started this little blog to record and share something each day that I love doing, to be creative and to put a little soul into everything I do. I plan to post about the renovations to our home, creative projects, glorious food and past & future travel stories.

Thank you for reading ‘meet Ruthie’! I would love to hear from you!
